Since 1986, Bioiberica has been working on natural solutions for plant stress, which negatively affects both the quantity and quality of crops. We have developed a range of products for plant stress that favor biostimulation, nutrition and plant protection.

Out of our range of products, Terra-Sorb® radicular, Terra-Sorb® complex, AminoQuelant®-Ca, AminoQuelant®-K low pH and Inicium® have shown excellent results in the tomato industry.

Terra-Sorb® radicular
is a liquid biostimulant based on amino acids obtained through enzyme hydrolysis, specifically developed for fertigation. Due to the complexing power of its amino acids and its stimulation of the growth and activity of the radicular system, Terra-Sorb® radicular captures nutrients from the soil and facilitates their absorption. The best time to apply Terra-Sorb® radicular is during the early irrigations, especially if mixed with liquid fertilizers in order to stimulate and increase the activity of root hair.

Terra-Sorb® complex is a formulation with a high concentration of free amino acids and a balanced mix of micro nutrients. It is especially suited to save plots from critical situations. It is also recommended to use its foliar application in combination with normal phytosanitary treatments, for it stimulates the plants’ growth and its high nutrient availability leads to high yield.

QUATTOR Tomato cultivar

In a field trial carried out in tomato plots of the Quattor variety in a non-heated greenhouse, the use of the Terra-Sorb® radicular fertigation formulation and Terra-Sorb® complex foliar formulation increased yield by 10% and 14%, respectively, in total plant production.

AminoQuelant®-Ca (AQ®-Ca) is a highly-precise solution for calcium deficiencies. It is based on a mix of calcium and boron activated by enzymatic hydrolysis amino acids. AQ®-Ca stimulates the physiological process favoring the mobility of calcium (photosynthesis, transpiration, etc.) inside the plant. The use of AQ®-Ca is recommended as an emergency treatment during stressful periods (drought, freezing temperatures, high temperatures, etc.), during periods of manifested deficiencies, as well as for reducing the percentage of sodium in sodic and saline - either in sodic soils by adding active calcium or when irrigating with waters having high salt contents. In a field trial in Mazarrón (Murcia, Spain) the treatment considerably improved total yield per plant, which resulted in a 14% crop increase when compared with a control trial and EDTA, and more than a 35% increase when compared with N-CA treatment. Furthermore, this trial proved the efficacy of AQ®-Ca in reducing the occurrences of apical necrosis or blossom end rot in tomato plots in real-life field situations when in adverse situations (salinity, lack of irrigation, etc.). This resulted in an increase of 7,000 kg more per Ha.

AminoQuelant®-K low pH (AQ®-K) is a formulation specifically developed to increase potassium assimilation. AQ®-K low pH does not add unnecessary salts to the treatment solutions, and thanks to its low pH it can be used in combination with all available phytosanitary treatments. Its application helps in the treatment of maturation issues, helps to strengthen the plant against fungal diseases, and helps the plant better resist periods of cold, heat and drought. In technical trials on food grade tomatoes, the plots receiving high doses of AQ®-K low pH yielded slightly higher quantities, and, most importantly, better fruit and cluster quality.
Inicium® is a formulation specifically designed to promote radicular activity. It is especially recommended for the treatment of transplantation stress (hydric, thermal, luminous, saline stress, diverse physiopathologies, etc). This formulation favors the development of a potent radicular system (roots and root hair) while maintaining a balance between the radicular and aerial parts of the plant (leaf-to-root ratio). The use of this formulation depends on the plant’s growth stage. When in seedbeds, it is recommended to apply Inicium® after the cotyledon blossoms; during transplantation, it is recommended during the first plantation irrigation. Inicium® accelerates the initial stages of the plants, reaching flowering stage more rapidly. In field trials, the application of 1% doses of Inicium® caused a 22.10% increase in the seedlings total length, an increase of 23.81% in the dried radicular biomass of tomato seedlings, whereas the aerial biomass reached a 35.47% increase.

Furthermore, Terra-Sorb®, AminoQuelant® and Inicium® are compatible with the normally used agrochemicals. However, with phosphorous-based fertilizers, it is recommended to carry out a preliminary compatibility test.

The application of Bioiberica formulations provides tomatoes cultivated for the food industry with more vigor and resiliency. At the same time they help to increase the quantity and quality of the production levels due to the beneficial effects of amino acids and biostimulant substances.
