  • The symposium brought a number of expert entomologists to the Stellenbosch University campus in South Africa.
  • The Tephritidae are one of the taxonomic families of the insects commonly known as “fruit flies”.

The 3rd symposium of Tephritid Workers of Europe, Africa and Middle East (TEAM) is currently being held at Stellenbosch, South Africa. This workgroup was created because of the strong interconnection (ecological, cultural and economic) existing between these three regions, and also because of the need for exchanging information and knowledge on the fruit fly, which are common to these territories.
The R&D department of our Plant Physiology Division was invited to this event and will present a scientific poster detailing the results of a study of Ceratitis capitata, the Mediterranean fruit fly, and its electrophysiologic and field response to Cera Trap®, Bioiberica’s 100% eco-friendly, pesticide-free attractant.

In addition, Bioiberica Plant Physiology will be present at the 9th meeting on Tephritidae of the Western hemisphere, to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October of this year.
