Soybean resistance against Asian soybean rust potentiated by Optimus®, a novel-induced resistance booster

June 2023
Posters | Optimus®

Asian soybean rust (ASR), caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, is a destructive disease affecting soybean production. This study aimed to use a phosphite (30% of phosphorus and 20% of potassium) formulated with L-α-free amino acids (Optimus®, Bioiberica, Spain) referred as induced resistance IR stimulus to reduce ASR symptoms and helping plants to have a better photosynthetic performance during infection process.

Considering the importance of Asian soybean rust (ASR), caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, in the decrease in soybean yield, this study investigated the potential of using phosphite combined with l-α-

Free amino acids (referred to as induced resistance [IR] stimulus hereafter) to boost defence responses of soybean plants against P. pachyrhizi infection. Plants were sprayed with water (control), acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM) or IR stimulus and noninoculated or i...

Physiological and biochemical insights into induced resistance on tomato against septoria leaf spot by a phosphite combined with free amino acids

June 2022
Scientific articles | Optimus®

Septoria leaf spot (SLS), caused by Septoria lycopersici, is a destructive disease in tomato. This study investigated the use of phosphite and potassium combined with L-α-free amino acids (named induced resistance (IR) stimulus), to boost tomato defense responses against S. lycopersici infection. Plants were sprayed with water or with the IR stimulus and challenged or not with S. lycopersici. Mycelial growth of S. lycopersici and conidia germinat...

Considering the potential of Asian soybean rust (ASR), caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, to reduce soybean yield, different control strategies need to be used. This study investigated the potential of using a phosphite (30 and 20% of phosphorus and potassium, respectively) combined with L-α-free amino acids (Optimus®, Bioiberica, Spain) to reduce ASR symptoms and helping the plants to have a better photosynthetic performance during the fungal infection process.
