We shall highlight Bioiberica’s attendance at Europe’s leading event on biocontrol, ABIM with the presentation of Crop-Scan’s potential for precision agriculture, for one more year

For another year, Bioiberica was present at the Annual Biocontrol Industries Meeting (ABIM 2016), held at the Congress Center Basel, on 23-25 October, where the attendees showed great interest in Bioiberica’s biological solutions for crop stress.
The Suzukii Trap system raised particular interest, since Drosophila suzukii is causing great damage in berry crops in the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Portugal and Spain.

There is currently a lack of eco-friendly systems for Drosophila suzukii pest control, so a number of chemical treatments have been authorized as an exceptional measure. Therefore, a supporting eco-friendly trap system such as Suzukii Trap, which allows for easy pest monitoring and control, has generated much interest.

On the other hand, in our country’s agricultural sector there is increasing talk about precision agriculture, moving towards a future with more sustainable and homogeneous plantations with which to achieve larger savings in water, fertilizers and treatments. This is why the Crop-Scan service needed to attend this year’s edition of FIMART, the rural innovation fair held in Cordoba on 20-22 October, where this system raised great interest among the visitors because of its high resolution and chances for early diagnosing of plant stress in large plantations.
