Suzukii Trap®: specific attractant for the capture of Drosophila suzukii

Due to the large capacity of reproduction of Drosophila suzukii, mass trapping approaches with baits may have huge potential for management and control of this fly. Mass trapping trials with the attractant Suzukii Trap® are conducted in different susceptible crops in order to define the best strategy for the control of this pest. By way of illustration, a trial of mass trapping is presented in a commercial plot of strawberry and raspberry in the region of Maresme (Barcelona), where the previous year had substantial damage caused by D. suzukii.
