The new demands regarding the quality of food and the largest movement of species of fruit flies around the world because of the fruit trade have made it necessary to improved pest control strategies in fruit, citrus and vine crops. At the beginning of the 21st century, Bioiberica developed a new system of liquid attractant (Cera Trap®) of great specificity and high efficacy for use not only in monitoring but also in mass trapping. This new line of biological attractants free of pesticides and easy handling has become a commercial reality in many countries in the fight against several fruit flies species: Ceratitis capitata, Anastrepha sp. Bactrocera sp., Rhagoletis sp. and Droshopila sp. among others. The objective of this work is to present several of these solutions and the advantages of liquid attractant line to the IPM strategies.
