Physiological and biochemical insights into induced resistance on tomato against septoria leaf spot by a phosphite combined with free amino acids

June 2022
Scientific articles | Optimus®

Septoria leaf spot (SLS), caused by Septoria lycopersici, is a destructive disease in tomato. This study investigated the use of phosphite and potassium combined with L-α-free amino acids (named induced resistance (IR) stimulus), to boost tomato defense responses against S. lycopersici infection. Plants were sprayed with water or with the IR stimulus and challenged or not with S. lycopersici. Mycelial growth of S. lycopersici and conidia germinat...

Physiological insights into soybean resistance against Phakopsora pachyrhizi infection potentiated by a phosphite combined with free amino acids

Considering the potential of Asian soybean rust (ASR), caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, to reduce soybean yield, different control strategies need to be used. This study investigated the potential of using a phosphite (30 and 20% of phosphorus and potassium, respectively) combined with L-α-free amino acids (Optimus®, Bioiberica, Spain) to reduce ASR symptoms and helping the plants to have a better photosynthetic performance during the fungal infection process.

Asian soybean rust (ASR), caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi, is a destructive disease affecting soybean production. This study aimed to use a phosphite (30% of phosphorus and 20% of potassium) combined with L-α-free amino acids (Optimus®, Bioiberica, Spain) to boost soybean defense against P. pachyrhizi infection.

The application program of ripeners is a task within the program of maintenance and development of commercial plantations of CATSA. It is set at the beginning of the ripening stage of the crop. Basically seeking three objectives: A) Promoting short-term maturity on the upper third of the stem of sugar cane. B) Encouraging a reduction of foreign matter promoting a better quality of burning at harvest. C) Encicle areas by planting time outdated or varietal component. Its answer is largely rela...

Assessment of the pre-harvest treatment with a defense response elicitor on secondary metabolites content and quality of table grapes.

The aim of the following experience was to evaluate the effect of foliar application of a novel elicitor of the defensive response (Optimus®, BIOIBERICA) on the quality and the quantity of bioactive compounds of Crimson and Autum Royal table grape varieties. Results show that the application of Optimus in pre-harvest increases the content of total phenolic compounds, which correlates with the increase in antioxidant capacity. It also highlights the significant increase of the content of res...
